The movie "Hansel and Gretel" is accompanied by very beautiful music that fits the situation very well. It contains many cute (real) animals and a gingerbread house that looks delicious. It has special effects and the forest is very well chosen, because the Thuringer Wald is peaceful at daytime, but in the night it becomes scary like a real enchanted forest. One might think that this movie is just the right one for six-year-old children. But one would be wrong. For a six-year-old, this movie is to scary.
Apart from that, Hansel (Johann Storm) and Gretel (Nastassja Hahn) didn't act convincingly enough. Even though the expressions on their faces were serious and sad, they had to look desperate instead. And that was missing. But the witch, the dad and the stepmother were just perfect.
I recommend this movie. Even for grown-ups.
